Finance visa financial requirements

So I'm self employed, and my 2018 tax return income shows 18k, which I beleive is under the requirement for 2 people to be approved for a k1 finance visa in usa. But I can show about 15k in savings and stocks, have no debt, and I fully own a house that is tax assessed at 63k. Can I make shortcummings up with assets for finance visa? Or are assets to make up for income only to be used for spousal visa?

1) Country. COs for some countries are more reluctant to accept assets than others for an I-134.

2) The CO looks at the totality of the circumstances to determine if there is a public charge inadmissibility. Under the minimum = no visa. Above = judgement call.

3) The house would likely not be considered - if it is your primary home - as presumably it would be a hardship if it had to be sold to support your fiance.

Thank you for the replies. She is from Philippines, I am from USA. She also has 4-5k usd in savings and no debt. Not sure if that's worth the effort of including.

Good news: Manila COs rarely ask for the I-134.

Bad news: Manila COs don't generally consider assets for an I-134.

OK so income isn't considered in the beginning, but at the end during the interview? So if I start the process now, interview in 2019, I can claim my 2019 tax returns(income for 2018). Is this correct?

I'm assuming you meant interview in 2020 and use 2019 tax returns with 2019 income.

Yes, if you file your 2019 taxes before the interview, then your current income (since you are self employed) will be based upon your 2019 income.

I ran an I-134 through on assets once.  It’s possible but country dependent.  My advice when you are close to the guideline is to list them.

If you start now your 2019 tax return (filed 2020) + 2020 income from Jan, 2020 to month of interview would be used for the affidavit of support.
