Cover Letter confusion after reading USCIS instructions

I was reading the instructions on this page:

https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips

It says there:

Quote
  • Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the nature of the submission. For example, Original Submission, Brief for an Appeal, or Response to Request for Additional Information.
  • Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the form number. For example, I-129, I-130, I-690 or I-698.

I am not sure if this means I have to attach separate cover letters, each with a subject stating the nature of submission and the form number or if I could submit just one cover letter with a single nature of submission, e.g. Original Submission - Adjust of Status (Family Based I-130 Immediate Relative of U.S. Citizen) ?

Yes its confusing! There are a lot of confusing instructions but it really pays off reading carefully specially when your filing by yourself without the help of a lawyer.

Heres what I did:

*I put "ORIGINAL SUBMISSION" note at the large envelope or my AOS package  right on the top right or wherever it is very visible to the one receiving the package. I believe they sort the nature of submission according to what it is. Remember, Chicago receives hundreds or even thousands of applications and packages EACH day so it is highly important to pay attention to the GENERAL & SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS from USCIS website.

*I include "ORIGINAL SUBMISSION" note in my cover letter "subject area" just like your example. I also include cover page on each of my applications (General cover page, I-485, I-130, I-765, I-864).
