Well the OP did not state how long she was looking to come for, made it sound a long time but admittedly my impression.

Maybe not only that,  but it appears the candidate is to old for the program as well.

I guess I  should have done more homework

YMMV

It is theoretically possible, practically is the issue.

Always amazed how many posters on VJ can consider employing staff. Not sure I know anybody who could. That sort of disposable income is rare.

Perhaps we need an Upstairs Downstairs forum?

At least one I recall wanted to pay them the $ equivalent of what they’d earn back home, well below US minimum wage.

It explains a lot like they can not stay more than a year (unless resident alien)

A lot can happen in a year.....😉

Your wife could apply for her an immigrant visa when she becomes a citizen. Your child will be way past the age of needing a sitter by the time sister gets her visa.

There is no "work visa" for a babysitter.

Look into the rules for an Au Pair as was previously stated but I don't think she qualifies.

So there is no route for her to come to the US to baby sit. Even if she finds a USC boyfriend it will take more than a year.

EB3? H2b?

But yet again more theoretical than practical.

How long do you need her for?

I figured there was no visa for a baby sitter I get that .

Her contract as a OFW is complete next June .

She doesn't have a home in the Philippines to return  , she doesn't want to renew her contract and time to move on

and she has a extensive background with children in HK

So we could use an a extra hand in the household and hoped there was a visa to get her here

How can you apply for something that does not exist.
