Help! K1 packet sent with wrong courier.

Hi everyone,

 

My fiance the petitioner did not double check the website before mailing the packet out. 

He used USPS to mail out to lewisville, TX instead of FedEx, DHL or UPS!

Will the packet go missing? What should we do??

I think at this stage just track your package using the tracking number to make sure it arrived.

Nothing wrong with using USPs, they aren't known for losing mail. 

 

If he got tracking with it you will have a tracking number to keep tabs on it, like with Priority Mail tracking is included.

Also, I don't think he sent it using Express. He was told that the mail would likely arrive on Monday the 26th. Will see if he can  find the tracking number. Once the USCIS receive the mail, how long will it take for them to notify him via email?

How long did USCIS take to notify the petitioner once they receive the packet? 

 

We didn't use Express either. He got a text about 9 days later. He never received an email confirmation, but I read this sometimes happens. He got the NOA1 letter  2,5 weeks after sending in the petition.

And now we wait...and  wait...and wait...

How long did USCIS take to notify the petitioner once they receive the packet? 

To answer to double-same question, it can take several weeks for the petitioner to receive the NOA1, receipt of petition.

 

Did she use Form G-1145 to be notified of delivery via email? If so, it may be quicker.

Usps is fine. I sent mine in June via usps. It was delivered in 2 days. NOA1 text 5 days later.

Yes he did submit the G-1145. Fingers crossed he will receive an email soon as he will be deployed in a couple of days.

I have showed him all the useful links including the VJ Guide, but i guess he had missed on that one.

Oh good to hear they will acknowledge the mail even if it's not express!... well I hope my fiance will actually receive the email because hes going to be deployed this week. Mail will take a while to get to him. 😓
