Go to Canada when I-751 pending?

My 2-year GC expired and I have a receipt for my I-751 application.

i also got a divorce and waiting for RFE to submit my decree.

 

1) Now, GC holders can easily go to Canada. But with my expired GC plus recipe, how does that work?

 

2) What do I need to come back? Expired GC+ receipt of I-751, do I need my marriage certificate or even my divorce decree!?

 

Is it even worth the trouble...... I’ve managed not travelling out of the US for 3 years... wait for another 3 years until naturalization?

Yes, you can go to Canada and return to the US with your passport, green card, and extension letter.

Yep, it is that simple. My wife and I made several trips to Vancouver while waiting for the ROC 'shoe' to drop....
