Renewing I751 stamp on new passport

Hey everyone. I'm in a bit of a carfuffle here. My passport expires this October. My I751 stamp expires as well in November. If my embassy will keep the old passport with the still valid I751, will I have trouble getting a new stamp in my new passport? 

 

This is my 3rd stamp, waiting for my I751 to be adjudicated since Dec 2016, while going through a divorce and switching to a waiver soon.

Generally, old passports are returned with the new one. It will just be invalidated by punching holes or making a cut on it.

Check with your consulate about your passport return policy and most of countries, they return the old passport.   If they say no ( highly unlikely), the make a photocopy of I-551 stamp and notarized it and show it as prove when you will go for I-551 Stamp on new passport.

This is at least what the US does.  You get the old passport back with a hole punched in it.  Nice to have a permanent record of your travels.
