Applied for AOS(i-485,I-765,I-131) and current F1 OPT EAD expires in Feb 2020. Does expediting AOS EAD make a good case?

Hi,

 

I have my F2A application in process.PD- May 2018

Currently i applied for AOS(i-485,i-765,i-131) and i am scheduled for biometrics on August 02.

 

My wife is the petitioner and she don't have a job currently and i (beneficiary) have a job and work on F1 OPT EAD.

My F1 OPT EAD expires in Feb 2020 and i was thinking of expediting the AOS EAD so that i can keep my current job(or get another better job).

 

The case i am trying to build is :

To Keep my current job and to provide for my family ,i need AOS EAD to be processed fast.

I am not sure whether it will be a negative for me as i am the cosponsor for my AOS petition.

 

I hear that NBC wait time is like 6+ months and if my i-765 application is delayed,i won't be able to work.

Any suggestions.

No. You have a current EAD. If by February you don’t get EAD THEN start thinking about expedite.

@milimelo  i understand what you are saying.

But please see the below scenario:

By Feb 2020 ,i dont get AOS EAD and my F1 OPT EAD expires.So i will loose my current job.

I am trying to avoid that situation and trying to build a case to expedite AOS EAD to  keep my current job.

I still don’t see a basis to expedite, you just filed AOS.

You do not need a basis to file an expedite.

 

You need a basis to have one approved. 

 

You have work authorisation so seeking an expedite to get something you have may come across to them as somewhat odd. But no harm trying.

Yeah  i hope so too.

If i expedite i won't do i right away.I will wait for 3 or 4 months and then do it.
