I thought I would start a group for individuals who had filed I130 then in July 2019, file the I129f for K3.  This pertains to Nebraska only as the I129f May not be appropriate for other SCs.  Please add your info to this page.

Thread is moved from the K-3 Process forum to the K-3 Case Progress subforum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well I didn't do it July. Just did it now. I don't know if it will help or not, I'll have no way of knowing. Even if it doesn't help, I feel a little better.

Seeing the 4 cases befor mine get transfers, and subsequently approved (Filed the beginning of Mach, approved  mid-July. ) made me say f-it. All it cost me was $7 and change.

Even after the I-130 is approved we'll still have a long wait for collecting docs. She's an immigrant in the country she lives in now.

I could go on but all it'll be is grumble grumble  so no sense.

It saved us at least a couple of months. And I agree - just doing something - anything - felt better than sitting around waiting.

Hey everyone. My PD is July 15th Nebraska. I’m somewhat was optimistic with the IOE case number but seeing more I-129 being sent, I’m starting to wonder if I should just go ahead and send it. It was under my impression that I would have to pay a new $535 fee? Do I file it directly to Nebraska as reference my I-130 or submit it to the Chicago lockbox?

Thanks for your help!

You do not have to pay the $535 again! It is free if you filed /paid for the 130 already. You send the application to either Lewisville, TX or Dallas, TX depending on what shipping service you use.

It is *much* faster to pull together than the 130 application. I did it all in just a couple of hours. Since it’s free and easy, I say why not? (Although this new IOE system may  change the calculus... no idea.)

Just be sure to include a copy of the I-797 for the I-130. Don't forget to check box 4.b on the I-129

On a side note.

I'm hoping we get an I-130 notification while my wife is here for our wedding ceremony.   (Did a small thing in February to make it official and start the visa process)

We were just approved 9/6/19 but I think the I129F was only part of it.  The USCIS lost our original I129F and so we had to submit a second one.  Over a month after we had submitted to the Lockbox, they "found it" but processed it as an I130 delaying our progress.  It took another month to find a rep at the USCIS willing to file an expedite due to USCIS error.  This was done 9/3/19.  It was sent to a reviewer on 9/5/19 and the I130 was approved 9/6/19 and the I129F was denied at the same time.
