Ok so if we get our dream job offer much earlier than we expected and EAD is only 30 days wait in, how did you guys explain the EAD is coming and how long can they wait?

This is AOS for marriage to USC. Heard the wait has increased to five or six months for EAD.  What would be reasonable to ask a company?

thank you!

So even if they give me a job letter and I call congressman etc what's the earliest uscis will do it? A month?

What can can I say to employer to convince them to wait a month?

What is a congressman going to do?

As far as your second question, only you can answer to how valuable you may be as an employee.

Maybe a month?Maybe less. Maybe no expedite at all.

Start with the job offer, then make the request and see where it goes.

Depending on your field most of the employers knows that EAD timelines are not reliable and a promise of it doesn't mean anything.

You should not say it will be approved in 30 days to your new employer. You might say might be approved based on historical data...

If they want to wait for you, ask them to give you a job offer letter. Expedite with it, but it is unlikely thay thay approve it ASAP. Might be more than a month. There are plently of stories here that even with expedite requests it is taking forever.

Hope you told your new employer upfront that you are waiting for the approval and the card itself before you applied or during the interview.

Depending on your employer they might wait for you, or ask you to come back when you have the card and if the position still open then hire you. Or they might write you down if you didn't tell them upfront that you are not authorized to work and wasted their time.

Unfortunately not a lot of things you can do. I know it is frustrating.
