With a spousal visa she gets her green card the minute she passes through immigration at the airport when she arrives.

About a year - after you marry.

The K1 visa is a one-way entry and that year will be spent adjusting her status to get her a green card anyway.

In the meantime while she’s waiting?  No working, no driving, no leaving the US at least until she gets employment authorization and a travel document.  At green card time?  You are looking at an interview where they will scrutinize your marriage and relationship to make a determination that it is a valid, ongoing marriage.  

Our AOS interview was tough (but) as a K3 holder my wife did get a drivers license, etc right away (as well as multiple entry/exit status) so at least she had some freedom to start integrating into life here.  

I am wondering how we would have pulled that AOS off if we didn’t live in the same place and I think you are both looking at unnecessary hardship and risk.

As well as a 1-year pass to travel until the physical card arrives in the mail.
