Missing medical exam for K1 interview

Hey everyone. I had a question I was hoping to get some help with. My fiancée and I have our interview this Tuesday at 8:00 AM in Bogota, Colombia. We just met up today and were planning on putting all the documents together and picking up the medical exam tomorrow, however we just realzied it is a national holiday and they will be closed. Their hours are 10-12 and 2-6 so we can’t go before our interview the same day. What are our options here? Will we be able to attend the interview without the results but then can we pick it up and bring it back later, or do we have to reschule?

Go to the interview and they will give you a 221(g) for the medical to be done.

In this situation, the consulate officer will normally give the applicant a 221g requesting the lacking medical exam documents....it will include instructions for submitting the medical....This will delay the process, of course.

How long will it be delayed? Would we have to send it in or could we drop it off to them and hour or two later?

Depends on the policy and procedures of the consulate.  My wife received a 221g for additional documents during her CR-1 interview.  She returned the documents that same day (per the prescribed method).  Her status changed to "Issued" 2 days later.

Just do what they tell you to do to file the medical report.  Hopefully it won't cause a long delay.

Depends on the procedures at the consulate. Most will let you interview then you will get a 221g. A handful may not permit you to interview without a completed medical. I don't think Bogota falls in there, but hopefully somebody else can confirm.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’ve looked at some of the reviews of the Bogota consulate and a couple other posts from people that went to Bogota and were missing a form and it seems like it is what you guys are all saying where they will give the 221(g) and just have you get it to them as soon as possible. I may try to get my fiancées medical exam early in the morning while she heads to the interview and if I can get there before she starts great. If not I guess I’ll have it ready as soon as she walks out lol.

Forgot to update this yesterday. I was able to pick up my fiancée’s medical results early in the morning and we made it to the embassy a little bit past our appointment time, but we were still able to go through the entire process.
