Not the worst thing. But pushing back this process another month or so. This is just so frustrating. I cant tell my family a definitive date for a wedding.

If a definitive date for the wedding is important to you, tear up the I-129F and get married then file got a spousal visa. You will then have the wedding date AND location of your choosing and pay less to the government in fees.  Win win!

There is no way to have a definitive date for a wedding, especially this early in the process.  There are just too many variables that can affect timing.  We have seen people have significant financial losses because they pre-paid wedding expenses and tickets that went unused because of denials or administrative processing.

Maybe if you want a wedding date, the K-1 isn’t the best choice.

I think the most important piece you can take from the previous posts is not to plan anything (a venue, plane tickets, etc) until he is holding his passport with the visa affixed inside.

If you want the traditional wedding, you can still do it, just modified slightly:  get married legally at the courthouse, and then  plan a larger and more formal celebration for a later date of your choosing :)
