I used to play a game with my brothers (they were older than me) similar to dodgeball that was called slaughterball.  In this game four or five of us would line up against a wall and another would throw the rubber ball as hard as they could at us.  The wall participants could only move side to side, but if you did make a catch you replaced the thrower.  My brothers would always aim for my head.

Dodgeball was one of the gym activities when I was in grade school. Only one rule, no throwing at each other's heads 😂😂
