Medicaid is complicated but generally you have to be a Permanent Resident for 5 years to qualify.

So taxpayer money via Medicaid was used to fund the birth?

the current administration seems to be trying to crack down hard on public charge issues. I can’t see that a foreigner using taxpayer money for a birth is going to exactly help on this front.... as by doing that you’ve already “hypothetically” proved yourself to be a public charge.

^This. Specifics matter: the government program used, the state it was used in, status at the time it was used, etc.

A generic question regarding government aid cannot have a specific answer.

of course the bill would had to have been paid.  'Country' implies taxpayers, meaning it didn't cost you. Could be an issue.

ok thats all i wanted to know. I was considering having a child and wondered what would be the repercussions of having it in america since my petition is in process.

The bills probably were paid by the medicaid. Op said it was paid but not personally paid. Alot of people tend to have their children here then leave unpaid bills or have medicaid cover the cost. Years later, it comes back to haunt them.
