Hello guys,

I will be emigrating to the states in the near future on a immigrant visa, however, my POE is through the US preclearance at Dublin airport in Ireland. Which means that I will go through immigration & costums there and have to hand over my unopened visa packet there and not upon arrival at the USA. Anyone any experience with this? Or info for that matter?  Somehow I’m worried my packet will get lost or something 🤷‍♀️

Nothing to worry about,  intending immigrants pass through preclearance facilities every day

YMMV

This is standard procedure for CBP pre entry posts. You have no option unless you change departure airports !! Many of us would have been overjoyed to have handed over the envelope before boarding !!
