Thank you very much, I’m new and trying to figure things out! I am applying for the right visa right? My husband and I have been married for less than 2 years, I’m in the US and he is still over in the uk. CR-1 right? Another question...When they talk about evidence of a bonafide marriage do I just include pictures, text messages, plane tickets to see each other? I see that they want evidence of water bills, ownership of things together, shared bank accounts. We don’t have any of those things since we have not lived together...  so I’m assuming the other evidence of our relationship is okay?

The do not expect newly married couples ( + living in two different countries) have so much shared financial things.  It is the physical times (the number of visits and the length of visits) matter.  Primary: passport stamp/airfare (or flight itinerary + receipts) for visit or travel together.  Secondary: pictures attached to primary evidences.

My wife visa just got approved and we did not have any shared financial stuff.  Interviewer did not review any supporting docs we brought it, just asked a few questions.  The interpreter said "wow - good" when she knew I visited my wife 9 times after we started our relationship.

1.  Yes, you are filing a CR-1/IR-1, spousal visa.

2.  International couples aren't always expected to have joint bank accounts, etc.  But the strongest evidence you can provide is that of time spent together, along with documentation normally generated in a marriage.  Initially, the marriage certificate, evidence of spending time together, and evidence of continued communication is the best evidence for newly married couples.

I had one other question. While we are waiting for my husbands visa to go through is there anyway we can file for something else for him to be here until he does his Interview? I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it but don’t know what is required or that...

He can legally make short visits during the process.....but he must return to his country for the process.  He can not enter the US via a tourist visa or VWP with the intent to stay inside the US and adjust status.

The immigration process is neither fun nor easy......it demands a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money.  You have come to the right place for the knowledge......

How is it possible that some people get an answer back within 4-5 months and other people it’s like a year and a half!?

The first part of the process is approval of the I-130 by USCIS.  That takes, on average, several months......then the process moves to the National Visa Center for a few more months.....then it moves to the local (London) consulate.......then your spouse will have a medical exam and interview........On average, the entire process takes about 12-14 months......if there are no hiccups along the way.

 what is a k3 visa?

Forget the K-3.  It is obsolete, and no longer a viable option.  Although it is still "on the books", only 6 were approved during 2018 across the entire globe.  I predict there will be none this year.

The CR-1/IR-1 is superior, anyway, since your husband will enter the US as a legal resident the moment he passes through immigration at arrival.  That will enable him to immediately work and/or leave & re-enter the US if needed.
