I'm in Virginia and through my zip code I thought Norfolk would be my processing office, when I got my biometrics appointment it was in Raleigh N.C. would that mean my case is being handled by Raleigh rather than Norfolk?

Pretty much. Either you fall into the district covered by the Raleigh office, or the Norfolk office is over loaded and transferred you to Raleigh.

Thanks for answering.  Raleigh seems to be moving about 1 month faster than Norfolk so I guess that's good. Also my wife is more familiar with the Raleigh area

Norfolk office says 10.5 to 22 months for aosEad seams to be around 5.5 months. The information can be found by googling uscis processing times.

Was it the Norfolk field office or Norfolk ASC. They do send people to closest ASC for biometrics but interviews may go to field offices as your zip code suggests. (Unless they have an arrangement for being overbooked- for example in California some cases are send to San Fernando valley field office from LA office but this is also specified on uscis website.)

It was the the Raleigh biometrics office. My zip code says Norfolk. Raleigh is closer by about 70 miles.

Sorry for the delayed response I hadn't seen your comment/ question
