hello every one

plz I just need good answer for my quotation

my fiancée she got approved from USCIS AND ALSO NVC also her case at the embassy at her country lets say

she got the visa and she about ready to enter to the USA BEFOR she leave her country

we thinking if I can go get her to USA also marry her there as her religious faith but we still will do right by k1 visa no change

is that okay or will be issues when she enter to the USA

thank u for helping me

If you do any kind of ceremony do not sign or do anything legally binding you 2 as husband and wife,  you can have a religious ceremony as long as you are not legally married from it.   They are many religious temples, churches, mosques in the US which will gladly do the ceremony here, but I know she probably wants it done for family.

Greeting Manns 155,

1. It is too late I assume to answer your question, but this is fact. If it is for religious purpose "Islamic Ceremony". Go ahead and allow an Imams (Iman) to marry you all. "BUT DO NOT" involve the Egyptian Government, Ministry of Justice, Egyptian Courts, Ministry of Affair, or the US Embassy Cairo. If the marriage becomes legal in Egypt it is also legal in the US. The purpose of the ceremony in Egypt is only to allow the family to attend, for in most cases the all the family will not be able to attend in the USA when the marriage is made legal. This will still be keeping in with the letter of the Law of the K-1 (129F) Fiancee VISA "NOT BEING LEGALLY Married".

2. The time for a K-1 VISA from start to completion is about 7 to 12 months on average to completion. Marriage VISA is about an average of 9-14 months. If you violate the K-1 ViSA and become  legally married in Egypt and not  legally in the USA. The USCIS is more strict and in all cases. The K-1 VISA will be made void if a person legally marry before the Fiancee arrives to the USA and the possibility  "NOT" being able to reapply for any VISA since you lied on your 129F application. At best you will have to apply all over for a Marriage VISA and start the VISA all over as a Marriage VISA.

DO NOT listen to anyone in here saying a religious ceremony is OK if it’s not verified by the government. It’s absolutely NOT OK.

To those who are giving this advice, please stop as you are giving false advice that will put OPs fiancées K1 status in jeopardy.

Not accusing anyone of having ill will, maybe y’all are uninformed, but please stop giving this false advice as it could be detrimental if one acted upon it.

A legal marriage is not required to be considered “married” in the eyes of the US Government. There are numerous cases on here where people have had a religious or civil ceremony, never ratified the marriage through the legal channels, and been denied a K1. There are even cases where lavish engagement ceremonies result in a denial.

Further, if the Visa is already granted, you have a ceremony before entering the country, then enter on the K-1 visa, and it’s discovered later on in the process it could really mess things up. In this case it will be considered fraud since you misrepresented yourself and entered on a visa for which you do not qualify (since you were already married before entering the country). I believe this would result in deportation and a lifetime ban.

We know you are trying to help but this is not good advice. A K1 can be denied EVEN IF THE APPLICANTS HAVE A CEREMONY THAT IS NOT A LEGAL MARRIAGE. Therefore, the best approach is to not have any ceremonies at all to pay it safe.

There are even threads that were posted of people who got denied for having religious ceremonies. We see it all the time here on VJ. Any resemblance of a formal union, whether it was official or not, CAN be used against a K1 applicant.
