Hi guys! I dont know if anyone has a similar experience but as for me i had my sputum collection March 19-22, 2019 and was scheduled for pulmonary re evaluation for sputum culture on May 22. I received a call from SLEC today April 4 and told me that they have rescheduled it April 8. This means im positive right? Holy cow. I am so depressed right now. As early as 2 weeks?!

It’s only been 2 weeks since my sputum collection and I got a missed call from SLEC today April 5. I called them to confirm what it was about and then told me that my supposed May 22 schedule to come back after 8 weeks sputum, they’ve re scheduled me for pulmo evaluation  on April 8. Since i’m from Cebu and it’s such a short notice. So I’m scheduled for April 16. My culture is positive, am I right? Oh god. :( Bacteria grew that soon?! That’s some ###### up news.

I agree with Hank. Especially that the TB was found and that there is a cure. Facing the grim reaper is not fun but for you you'll get through this. We have had many who faced the same issue and once completed their journey continued and received a visa. You'll take the medication (DOT) once a day M-F for 6 months. So you are also facing a place to stay during this time. But wait until you have your initial meeting with SLEC before moving ahead with any other plans. This is not the end of the world so relax and think positive. Good luck.

14 years ago i was diagnosed with primary  pulmonary hypertension, something to do with my lungs. I was in medication for 6 long months that time and right after that I  i was declared free from PPH. With that being said actually rn im getting a lil bit paranoid because of the sputum test or if i get positive with TB. C’mon no one wants to get delayed with their visa plus the hassle reallyyy blows my mind. My question is do you think going to st.lukes hospital to get some check up in advance is a good idea? I mean if ever my results are positive *knock on wood*  i can go with my medication now while waiting for NOA2.

I'm running 8th weeks on my culture now so far I don't receive any call from sleC and I'm going back this April 12 (hoping to get vaccine). We have a group chat for those who undergo sputum and most likely once they call you earlier and ask you to come back it means positive they won't tell you thru phone.

If you have history then secure with you the documents about your medication and be honest about it. It's a case to case basis. Even if you undergo treatment and your x-ray is cleared then you will not undergo this sputum test. There is so much cases about it that they turn out negative after medication . They will only ask you to do sputum once there is something suspecious on your x-ray. And no you can't do medical now. You have to wait for noa2 approval and wait till your case is ready

I mean like just a regular check up in st.lukes hospital to know if I’m positive with TB.

Yes you can but if you want and accurate result then do the afb smear test ( that's a smear where they have to culture until 8 weeks). That's the best way for you to find out.

Last thing 1st.   DO NOT .. I repeat ... DO NOT start any type of TB treatment outside of the SLEC medical ... doing so will add a year to your wait.

If you had some lung issues and it caused scarring of your lungs plan on SPUTUM (60 days) ...

Just follow the process ..  don't try to 2nd guess it .. don't try to "save time" ... it won't happen.

And yes, do bring copies of your medical records to your medical at SLEC

I’m sorry im newbie here. I was just thinking of getting just a regular check up on st.lukes hospital, and yes but also we’re considering cr-1 as well. Thank you tho very much appreciated❤️

You can get a check up .. no issue with that, but it will change nothing.

You have not filed the petition yet?

Yeah. Thats the upside to it. Thanks guys. For now we are quite unsure if we’d like to proceed. That’s the depressing part. So many things are at stake.
