"Stokes interview"... not the greatest of experiences, so I've heard.

While the consulates do not do true "Stokes" interviews,  they have occasionally been known to do interviews in Stokes "style"

Sounds like an instruction from the USCIS to the embassy. I think they mailed it to your partner by mistake, as that file is with the agent during the interview. 

See it as a positive: now you know what's their main concern.

Well they never should have sent that too you. But what you got to see is something no one else probably has.

 

I would advise for you to be there. You may get a stokes interview. No big deal. Nothing to stress about. If you know each other you know each other.

 

My husband interviewed in Nigeria and we are 26 years apart me the woman being older. Previously married to a Nigerian. Past childbearing years. Red flags everywhere. And absolutely no issues.

When our embassy (Ukraine) sent us the email that our petition for the K1 was ready for an interview at the consulate they sent us an electronic copy of the petition as well.  You could see where the adjudicator was checking to make sure all the questions were answered on the i129f and the top had the approval stamp.  I guess some embassy's send you a copy and others do not.

If this is a case of a mistaken mailing, you and your fiancee might want to keep it on the down low. The consulate might get a little upset or concerned if they learn you were mailed a copy of the application. Hopefully it wasn't the original and your file is empty. 🤣🤣

What they got sent was an email copy not an original hard copy

Maybe one of those gay couples on VJ that you're thinking about is us. My husband is Thai and there's a 30 year age difference. No one seemed to care. Embassy interview was easy and the usual questions. But I think you're right that significant age differences in Asia aren't unusual.

I got a copy of our petition, too. No remarks though, just stamped, signed, and a written A-number.

 

Must be a newbie that made remarks and then sent to beneficiary

Yup there you are, you are one of the ones I was thinking of. And then couple others from Philippines, but yea tends to be common for Asians and foreign partners as I had said.

My wife and I have a 29 year age gap. At the Philippine consulate I think that's more common but I was there at the interview which I believed helped. They asked me how many times I've visited so far (that trip was the 7th time) and I believe having 7 visits in the previous 2.5 years helped a lot as well

That is not true. I've got 129F approved copy as well with our "schedule the interview" e-mail from the embassy. No dramatic remarks, but a lot of check marks, and hand written A number, Approved stamp on the header etc. You could even see punch holes on the top. I am guessing some embassies just routinely send approved 129F digital copies as attachments to petitioners/beneficiaries. 

 

P.S. Every time I read "Stokes" all I think about Gérard Depardieu, film "Green Card" and name of the night-cream Monticello

I sometimes wonder if it is a part of Know Your Petitioner package because it comes with the IMBRA pamphlet. Probably to better protect the beneficiary

It sounds more like the interviewer was having a go at them. They get bored asking the same questions I imagine. At our POE we had some dead time at the immigration booth we first checked in to while waiting for a supervisor to come and stamp Rox's passport. He started leafing through the file and asking random questions that came to him. He even said he was just waiting and passing time)))))
