Restaurants in airports need to be open 7 days a week, period.

That would be my sole criterion for judgment.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

they are more catholic, NOTHING like evangelicals

they tend to believe in things like immigration, and its why most people supported us being a sanctuary city as there is a sizable immigrant population here

Do they believe in legal or illegal immigration?

Several years ago down here in the FL Keys, McDonalds wanted to open a location on Big Pine Key.  The locals were dead set against it.  Too much traffic and we just don't need that garbage on our little island.

We do have 2 drive thru liquor stores, however.

Back several years ago I was living in a semi-rural area that was starting to see some development.  A funeral home wanted to move to a spot on the corner of two main roads and the local residents complained loudly about traffic, lights, etc., so the local zoning/development board nixed the idea.  In my opinion, these folks were idiots as funeral homes only occasionally tie up traffic in the late mornings or early afternoons, and most of them are quiet by 9am, but now the residents have a big box store in that location.

Excellent idea for around-the-clock flight arrivals/departures, but a waste if airports shut down after certain times of night.

Agreed, if the airport is closed, no sense any retail being open, but as someone already stated, the airport gets the rent regardless, and I doubt people are coming to an airport for any specific restaurant, so in the grand scheme it really doesn't matter.

I liked the closed on Sunday theory. Not sure I would allocate airport space to a business that only opened 6 days a week

Why would that matter?  The store pays rent monthly or annually, I would imagine.  If they wish to only open 4 days a week, and can sustain their business that way, that’s their business, I say.

Not that I eat much fast food, particularly in airports, but I would 10 times prefer CFA over McDo, Booger King, Wendy’s, etc. any day.

You are 100% spot on. I think I read somewhere, that last month for the first time ever online sales passed Brick and mortar

I am a big advocate of shop local. I just bought one of those fancy ZTR mowers from a local mom and pop shop. I probably paid a few dollars more, but by god that is worth being able to take it back to the place I bought it for service. My last mower I bought from Lowes and they shipped it 2 hours up the road to a corporate repair/rip off shop and it was a nightmare

As for Amazon, I admit I use it, Its just too darn easy.  example I needed a door knocker for the front door to replace the one that still had the former owners name on it after 7 years. I was done in 4 mins on amazon and 3 days later... boom there i was. Same think with the water filters I just bought for the fridge.

It’s people like you who are the downfall in our society today.

If this keeps up, one of these days we will be able to just order a wife online and have her shipped to us.

Oh, wait...

I would imagine my tap water is fine, but I have a Filipino wife. Cooking and drinking tap water was unheard of. Took a while to get where she will  drink tap. I think I paid 24 for a 3 pack. Will last a year or more. As to the science who knows

It has  internal filter cartridge that screws into the fridge. The light comes on at 6 months or so. Of course I immediately start hearing about the Ebola water until I change it

Understand the tap water debacle.  Same here.  Even though my house has a filter on the water, as well as the fridge, she pretty much refused to drink it, and kept buying bottled water (but only when I was out of town).  I finally bought a Brita pitcher, so now the darn water is TRIPLE filtered, and she is finally ok with drinking it.

Also, unless your water from the fridge has slowed to a trickle, just pushing the reset button will get rid of that light.  Just sayin’.  (Read somewhere in the past that those filters typically have a lifespan 2-4 times more than advertised, depending on incoming water quality.  And considering that most municipal water has already been filtered several times, I am ok with a simple reset at least once per filter)

Yeah, people have ended up dead at Walmart IIRC. That's why I just go along with it, but also why I just avoid the place unless I absolutely have to go there.

People have also ended up DED in their bathtubs at a much higher rate than Wal Marts.  That’s why I avoid baths like the plague.

In the regular forums that indirectly comes up a LOT, you would probably not be surprised about the number of people who think ex spouses should e taken care of by ICE.

I know a few K-1 sponsors that got burned in a month, but the gumberment let the immigrant wife stay.

They should offer a premium service at an extra fee, like VJ, so if it does not work out you can get them deported asap.
