How long for check to clear and receipt letter

Our I-751 was received in the Phoenix office on 3/13/19.  The check has not cleared and we have yet to receive the receipt letter.  Should we be concerned?

okay - thanks for that.  I know the process takes much longer than before but thought the initial reply happened fairly soon - apparently not.

Today we got our package back with a rejection letter saying the payment amount is incorrect.  I sent a check for the $595 filing fee but did not send an additional $85 for the biometrics.  On page 2 of the instructions it says "If you are the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse, you do not need to include a biometric services fee at the time this petition is submitted. If USCIS laternotifies you that you must submit your biometrics, you will receive a biometric services appointment notice with instructions on how to submit the additional fee". 

 

Is my wife not a legal permanent resident spouse?

Two year green card is a conditional green card, which is why we go through this process to remove conditions and get a 10 year card.

At least you got it back, so just re-send with proper amount!

You misunderstand. You (presumably) are the US citizen, and so no biometrics fee is required from you (under paragraph 2). Your wife is the conditional permanent resident (see paragraph 1 on page 2, "Conditional resident") and so a biometrics fee is required for her.
