We normally agree on most things and this is something I have tried to think through.

 

A DMZ is basically a zone that allows surveillance and assumes that those crossing it want ot avoid being caught, what do you do when the focus is getting caught?

 

The whole build the wall etc is about catching people.

This reminds me of another issue, will not derail this thread, but if it was me crossing why would I care what aid Mexico did or did not get.

 

So the only point would be to get Mexico to do something you do not want to do, when they have no interest in the outcome beyond doing whatever is expedient.

Good question. It seems like cutting of aid to Mexico would be the obvious choice. Maybe send in some Spec Ops units to train and advise at their southern border.

 

We all know that the whole Asylum thing is a jail house work around and they have been trained to do it. The vast vast majority are coming here for work
