As I understand, the wait for the medical appointment is close to a month. I didn't realise that at first and makes our wait a whole month longer, a month we didn't plan on.

Is there any way I can book the medical with my embassy case still at the NVC? What would I need to book the medical despite my packet not being in London yet?

Hopefully it can be timed right that the medical appointment is only a week or two after the embassy sends their letter inviting me to setup the interview/sort out the medical.

I was very confused about this as well since there is a lot of contradictory info floating around out there. Here's what I've gathered-  you can book the medical now and use proof from the NVC tracking site to show that you have a case number assigned because it shows your LND number plus visa category. A few people who have already completed their medical have shared that this is the only "written" proof they brought and it was sufficient. This process can be very confusing and I understand the time crunch as well as wanting the peace of mind that what you're bringing is correct. Hope this helps!

No. It doesn't have your new case number LNDxxxxxxxxxx. Everybody in this thread is talking about a K1 fiancé visa. You are getting a spouse visa and have to finish all the processing at NVC. For immigrant visas, the clinic asks to see your appointment letter that NVC will eventually issue to you. It's a very different process than a K1 visa.

So, my case is "In Transit" at the moment, I anticipate it will get to London by Friday going by the last batch of cases. I actually called Knightsbridge who suprisingly offered me an appointment for tomorrow! Surely that would be too early for me to attend the exam, London won't have me in their system yet. Right?

Well, I scheduled for the 12th anyway. Just to give myself the extra breathing room and time to prepare properly :) Exciting times!

The medical clinic and being in London's system are not related.
