Visas for Australians?

Hi all I'm looking for information for Australians to live and work in America. 

From what I've seen there is an E3 visa for professional australians but id need a bachelor degree to get? 

I am currently half way through my nursing degree. 

Is there any other way for me to be able to move there and get a work visa? Or will I have to wait until my degree is finished?

Generally, you must already have at least a Bachelor's before you can apply for an E-3.

E3 is sometimes called the H-1B for Australians as it shares a lot of similarities, including education requirements.  Experience in lieu of education can be considered. That said, it sounds like you don't have that kind of experience in the field as you are mid-degree.

 

To obtain a work visa, the first step - once qualified - is finding a US employer to sponsor you. They must complete labor certification to ensure there are no US-based individuals eligible to work that are capable and willing to fulfill that job for a prevailing wage.

 

Or if you intend to live in the US long-term, the EB-3 route is viable for registered nurses.

Visas are issued for a designated purpose. What is your purpose in the US?

If it's to work, E-3 (temporary) or EB-3 (permanent residency) would be the ways to go.

The Diversity Lottery is a low-percentage option as well.

I do have the relevant experience as i have 10 years experience working in health in nursing and radiology. 

 

I do intend to work in the US. I'm looking to live there for awhile maybe permanently. Undecided at the moment. 

Yes I intend to finish my studies. But I'm trying to work out what is my best option for me. I also have a child.

 

 

I have heard of the lottery and had just missed it by a couple of days. But that won't be open again till the end of the year and will be for 2021 now.
