How did you guys get your birth certificate translated? Is it possible to do it online with a company? Also can I get my social security card before everything else? Did anyone fill out the i-131 form? This is so stressful for us right now, we need your help please.

Hello ,

It is a stressful process. Try to relax cause if you stress too much it won't be good for your well being.

this forum is here to help as much we could.

Ok let me try helping with your questions.

You can use the 1-94 to get your Social security card. Take the 1-94 with your passport to the newest SS office and go apply for it asap before it's expire.

Yes you can file the I- 131 with the rest of the forms ( I-485  and work permit)  when you file the adjustment of status. It's important to have it in case you need to go out of the country before you receive the green card.

For the translation see if you can find a local place that do translation. Be careful with online place as there are a lot of scam. You will also need to notorize the translation once you have it translate.

Tips:

Make a checklists of all the documents you will need so you don't miss anything.

If you have anything questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck

I had my birth certificate translated online for $20. It's not a big deal. They email you a translation and an affidavit that they know both languages.

You don't need it notarized (but feel free). I sent the emailed copy I received, as is. Printed it out and attached to a copy of the original BC. No issues.

Cannot for the life of me remember which one, I went with the cheapest one that had a decent looking website. But Google "translation services uscis" and chances are, they're all fine.

I'm pretty sure your friends can translate your documents for you and sign a letter saying that they're fluent in both languages.
