Damn, and here I thought I'd only have to get one vaccine.

Looks like I'll need the MMR, Varicella and Tetanus then. I guess I could get the titre test though and possibly skip out on the Varicella.

Do you just ask your family doctor for a referral for the titre test? Or can you just call up a Life Labs or whatever and request it? How much is the cost if any?

Trust me I thought the same thing because I HATE needles.. literally cried like a giant baby when getting the TDap shot and it didn't even hurt lol

My doctor recommended getting the titre test and I went the same day to Life Labs. I'm not sure about requesting it on your own because wouldn't they need the requisition form that has your doctors info? (You're going to have to find out about that one lol). Blood test was free as was my TDap Shot.. and I'm assuming (as I haven't gone yet) that my MMR shot will also be free.

Ya, everything in Ontario has to be done through your family doctor. It's a pain in the ### and to make them feel useful I guess.

The titre test showed you were immunized against MMR but you still needed to get another?

Many people who are in their 30s only received one MMR as a child. That one stings... i also had to get one.
