Oh wow, that's awesome info. I'll let my fiance know right away. Thanks for the help guys, you're all life savers ❤️

Good luck. If you can't get the letter then just submit everything you can that actually proves your account balances. Your fiance may be able to get his pay-stubs online depending on their company. Letter from employer will definitely be beneficial.

Note that we didn’t use bank statements for k-1 or AOS. It’s more important at the AOS stage if it shows comingling of funds, but if you’re just trying to show income, then all you need to show is deposits when it comes to bank info.

too much information has been known to hurt people. Such as a fiancé believing that showing they send money to their foreign fiancé or vice versa looks good, when in reality, USCIS can see it as the foreign Fiancé is sending money as a way to purchase their way into a green card or as the USC buying a marriage.

there was a case on here back when I was doing my k-1 where the CO actually asked the foreign fiancé if they knew about the USCs credit problems due to court filings and such they provided. Wasn’t any crimes they needed to show, but they even offered documents showing they had been at court to pay off debts. If for some reason you think your bank statements could hurt you, then just send the deposits, that’s all they want anyways. (And again, it’s optional proof)

Is it optional? In the i-134 instructions it states image.png.866d75f8c2ced202b0dc2dc6ac327e67.png
EDIT: Nvm you're right

We didn't either.  No problems whatsoever.

The good news is you are Canada so they don't scrutinize you as much - no matter what people say. I still would not use that as a reason to not have as much evidence as possible but hopefully it buys you a little piece of mind. Lol :)

So my fiance is getting ready for his interview and we don't have the 1040 or tax documents. I changed jobs mid year last year to a better paying job and the tax return doesn't show what I currently make. I was told to just take a letter from my employer with a wet signature stating my current job title and annual earnings and my recent pay stubs and that this would be enough. Anyone know if that is true for the London Embassy???? Freaking out a little bit now.

My interview is Wednesday and just realized we might not have enough information. We followed the instructions on the i-134 instruction sheet

but reading online it seems like everyone provided other evidence that I'm worried if I need or not. For example an 1040 form and paystubs. We

have a letter from his employee that provide salary and copies of last 2 W2s. Am I screwed without the 1040?

You can easily print out your tax transcripts within minutes.. Go here https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and create an account online and download the tax history on there

my off the bat, "did not read other people's comments" answer is nope. i only had my husband's letter from his employer, bank statement stating how much was deposited in the last year and how much was the balance then, literally just "date account opened:", "amount deposited within last year:" and "current balance:", and i gave his W2. i had 3 years of W2, my interviewing officer took just the one that had the income tax with it. i offered him the rest, said he didn't want it.

on a completely irrelevant but your future note, my hubby and i brought his paystubs to the green card interview. wasted paper on it. our interviewing officer wanted none of that (half because my application documents were very complete).
