Can I ask thm after 6 yrs if visa bulletin is current, I mean can I request for approval after 72 mnths

thanks

I don't think it allows for case inquiry until it is close to end range which is 93 months right now. It is 70 months for me right now. It will not allow me to do case inquiry until it is 93 months for me. Just have to wait.

I am not sure how service centers process cases but I'd imagine that they should be processing cases once they are close to or within timeframe listed?

Yup, that's right. They tend to process family preference cases (especially F2A/F2B) fairly shortly before the PD becomes current. The timelines as stated on the USCIS website (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) are the 50% and 93% adjudication rate time periods. So by the first number, roughly half of the I-130s in that category are expectred to be processed. By the second number, 93% of them are expected to be processed.

For the I-130, the USCIS timeframe is what matters.

After approval of the I-130, the Visa Bulletin dictates when NVC will proceed with the case.

I think if you are outside the US and your I-130 hasn't been approved, I don't think there's anything you can do other than to wait till it's approved; even if your priority date is current. If you are outside the US your will case will have to go through NVC.

If you are inside the US already you may be able to file for adjustment of status (AOS) directly through USCIS without dealing with NVC.
