Question Regarding Approval

If my husband is traveling when he gets approved for his CR1 visa, how long does he have to send his passport back to the Cairo Embassy for them to insert the visa?   Does the approval expire after a certain amount of time?  I'm worried he will be traveling for work when he gets approved.  I want to be prepared, just in case.

When he attends the interview, if everything goes well, they will ask to keep his passport. It takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get the passport back with the CR1 immigrant visa in it. That’s if everything goes well.

The visa is generally valid for 6 months, or expires the same date as his medical, whichever comes first.

He's already been on the interview but in administrative processing.  I'm asking if he gets approved while away with his passport, how long he'll have to get back and return the passport for them to put the visa in it.

it takes about a week for him to sent it to them and for him to get it back in hand.

I'm asking how long they will hold the approval before he can physically get back to the courier and give the courier the passport to send back to the embassy, for the embassy to put the visa in it.  I'm afraid he'll be traveling when he gets the approval and not get back for a week or something, to send the passport back.  I don't know how else to word my question.

there is not telling, each case differs. it can take a while, especially when being on AP.
