What if EAD renewal isn't approved after 180 days

I am currently waiting for approval for our green card, we're adjusting from K1 visa. The NY office has up to 3 years as processing time, so no clue when that will go through.

The EAD/AP expired in January but I applied for renewal 90 days before expiration in October. I know that the EAD is still valid for 180 days after expiration if you've applied for renewal, but what happens if after the 180 days there has been no movement? Or if there's been a denial?

Then you renew your EAD again or if denied (unlikely), you cant work.

You can try contacting USCIS at 800-375-5283 and request an EAD expedite based on "severe financial lost to person" because you can't legally continue working after the 180-day auto-extension: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria
