if the immigrant messages and social  media show he / she talks to a lot of others about relationships,

one USC was informed 7 weeks after doing the form,  that her bf was talking to a woman from Canada and one from Germany and the case was being returned to the US

but you are married,  why worried about this?

just know the form takes time and you have to have the patience to weather the storm

good God i am not against you

i know this frustration

we first applied in July 2009 and he finally got the visa July 2015

the process is heartbreaking at times

You said the DS5535 was intended to check for marriage fraud. I asked if it was a fact, for my own knowledge. Not to argue w/ you or assume you ARE against me.

Since you didn't say YES it is a fact, I am going to assume that's what you're thinking the DS5535 is for, not what you know it is for.

Thanks for all your advice & comforting words.

i said it is used to check for all things

look at the form itself

it has social media

cell phone numbers used

all dating sites used

all email ID"s

all siblings information

checks travel

any and all information they gather is used to approve or disallow a claim

yes, & all the websites I've read have said the form is to check for connections w/ terror groups.

which they can use social media to find.

& they could possibly find it if your sibling is connected to a terror group.

or if you've traveled to another country where they usually do the training.

I ONLY wanted to know if that was really what the form was for.

& my husband does have the most common name IN THE WORLD. I keep hearing that may have something to do with it.

This could definitely be a factor...having a common name even gets Americans flagged. My brother had a very common typical American name and he was flagged, constantly got checked at airports, was put on a "terrorist watch list" because of his extremely common name.

I'm not familiar with the DS-5535 but it strikes me as a very extensive background check? In terms of a fraud marriage, every spousal visa applicant is assumed to be a fraudulent couple, which is why so much evidence is needed for the whole processes....it seems to me this DS-5535 is more about investigating the individual than for marriage fraud...maybe they think he is a fraud or could be hiding something (again, with the common name this could just be computers flagging him), but not the marriage specifically.

I know that this triggers additional AP sometimes, it could also be a factor here if so.

It honestly could be...seems to me it could be the common name, country of origin, possible knowledge of some technology related stuff...they usually look at many factors. Morocco is also just one of those countries where the AP rabbit hole is really common...this could be for any type of visa, including tourist visas. That's why I don't think you should assume automatically that they suspect marriage fraud. Also based on what others in thread have said, it seems like Casablanca is just a really hard Embassy...try not to take it too personally and feel better. I know it must be awful to go through all this.

I know another member on VJ whose husband is from Russia, he's been stuck in AP since November, most likely was triggered because of his background as an engineer...they're still waiting. :(

I'm really starting to believe that alot of people on this site have comprehension issues.

I never said that the DS form was illegal, what I was referring to, which I thought was quite evident was, the practices there , in my opinion, are or should be illegal. Asking someone, "When was the last time you had sex with your wife" or "Do you love your wife?, oh you laugh, you lie". That type of BS, that is illegal , it violates many rights , ethical and human.

I have no comprehension issues, thank you very much.  Nor did I think you were referring to a form.   If you’re asserting that there are illegal practices going on at a US embassy,  your credibility would be improved by citing a source for that info.

I am going to talk for myself here but I do not need a source, the reviews and experiences shared here daily by our consulate are source enough.
