it's different for everyone so make sure to always check the new, old, and the app. My husband's case never updated from received on the old site through the k-1 and then the aos process while the app and new site updated accurately. There is no good or bad site it seems to be different for everyone so again, check them all.

The apps aren't official; they're effectively scraping the "old" site, so you don't need to check both apps and the old site.

my app updated and my old site never did so i doubt it was scraping the old site. It takes 2 extra seconds to check the app as well. They might as well check it.

Neither is more accurate. Some people will only get updates on the new one; some will only get updates on the old one; some will see updates on one site or the other first but the other will get updated later; and some won't get updates on either and won't see anything until their print notifications show up in the mail.

The new site showed our NOA2 before the old one for me, but it was after I got a postal service informed delivery email showing my NOA2 was in the mail. Our status did eventually update on the old site too, but not for another week or so.

I agree. Both sites still only show when USCIS received my case and I already have a NVC#.

I really hope we make the March 5th shipment.

Strange thing has happened to my status(new site)

On Feb 25th it changed to "Fingerprint review was completed" and then for some reason I got another notification on Feb 27th with the same status

Not it shows:

"Fingerprint review was completed" Feb 27

"Fingerprint review was completed" Feb 25

"Fingerprint fee was received" Feb 2

Just curious: which app are you referring to?
