Isn't Florida's business model built partially around attracting retirees from northern States. This basically means that the socialist States are helping to sure subsidize Florida. Of Florida already takes $4.50 from the federal government, for every dollar the stats pays the government in taxes.

Florida is my home state....that's exactly what I was going to say. A huge majority of the state is made up of snowbirds and retirees from the North, especially from the New York City area. Finding a native born and bred Floridian is getting rarer and rarer...especially in the south of the state, which is a magnet for transplants.

  Blue states like Washington, Oregon, Colorado and California are also doing well. In fact they round out the top 5 for economic growth (with Florida). Why is that?

DeSantis says this influx has fueled economic growth of the state, leading to a $1.4 billion revenue surplus.

 

Economist Richard Rahn has created a chart that includes a comparison between the tax rates of New York and Florida. He writes that while New York imposes high taxes and conveys an anti-business attitude (the recent debacle with New York City losing a headquarters for Amazon is just the latest example), “Florida imposes no state and local income taxes in addition to the federal income tax — yet Florida is booming, with a budget surplus, while New York is mired in debt. Only 50 years ago, New York had four times the population of Florida, and now Florida is larger than New York.”

 

We have no state income tax, and other taxes and fees are very reaonable yet we have a large revenue surplus.  Trouble is we are attracting liberal northerners.  Look how close the governors race was, against a far left tax and spend candidate

Huge difference between economic growth and fiscal condition.

 

Florida ranks near the top in both.

South Dakota also doesn't have tax income tax....wonder why nobody is flocking there? Hmmm, what a mystery..

 

Obviously climate and geography have played a large role in Florida's success too.

South Dakota again at number 2 for Fiscal Condition! Why aren't people flocking there?

 

Also, why is Kentucky so low? That's a state as red as the get....why number 46?
