brown package is damaged

HI!
Just got my passport with documents and there was brown package and it is damaged !
Has someone had this problem?

It's supposed to look like that.  It's not damaged at all.

My wife had the same thing for her packet out of Kyiv.  It's normal and you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

do you mean the little cutout in the corner of envelope?

its not damaged, its standard brown envelope for the visa package

you can google it, you can see a lot of image that exactly same..

I would assume it's rather for the peace of mind of border control or customs in transit or whoever attempted to open it before. So nice of them. Looks quite weird though

Yes it looks weird that's why I was worrying. But fortunately this package has to be with this cutting.

I think so, it certainly doesn't look ripped or accidentally damaged. I have heard a few 'envelope ordered opened' stories but still too much to my liking and I know they are true. But all of them happened rather long ago and resulted in profound excuses to the embassy from the opening side. Certainly one can see there is no hazardous powder inside, just documents. Good they put it into practice. Just curious, can you see the documents inside are in English?

I got answer from embassy and they said that package isn't damaged, it's ok.

As for documents inside, I see there are  some different color papers but what exactly is there I can't see.

Don't worry about what is inside. These docs will be handed over to the CBP officer at the POE. As long as the brown envelope is intact and unopened, you'll be fine.

On a side note when my wife received her packet, they jammed all the documents into a much weaker folder and when she received it from the courier it had a 5cm tear on the side (in addition to the opening they have at top). We emailed the embassy and they said dont worry about it but not wanting to take any chances she made a trip back there and they resealed it and put it in a stronger envelope.    The envelope they used the second time is similar to the one the OP posted.   

 

THey gave her an appt the following day, they opened up the packet and she saw them remove all of our photo's, chat logs, i believe the i129f is in there. medical, vaccination report and cd were in there.  I really think it might be the entire petition and related documents.  The CO also told her at the time it wasn't a big deal and wouldnt have caused any issues at POE but after the long process thats a chance not worth taking.

 

THey actually gave her a number of her pictures back that we had provided the embassy and said all of these photos aren't necessary.  We may have given them 30 total?

I peeked into ours when we did the CR-1 via DCF and it had everything we submitted, and I mean everything...the Affidavit of Support including all bank statements and taxes, all the bona fide marriage evidence (we were living together at the time so we had a lot of documents for this)...our packet was huge and bursting at the seams, probably about double the size of @VikaShew2017's in the photo. 30 photos seems like a ton, I think we had about half that many photos in ours.

Mrs. T-B.-to-be's envelope weighed several tons, thanks to the consulate's having treated us like criminals and ordering more and more and more information.  We never got our pictures or anything else back, either.

Our packet was the same, we entered at Newark on 2/19 with no problems. Secondary Processing was quick and easy.
