Did anyone else from Jamaica uses a lawyer? Did you have to pay to file your affidavit of support?

You do not file the I-134.  You hand carry it to the interview.  The lawyer wants to charge you for that?

Actually, you do just show up with the affidavit.  They will take it during the pre-interview screening.  There is nowhere to files it unless the requirements are that different there.  I don't think that Jamaica will do it different than the rest of the world.  All I have ever seen from anywhere is it is hand carried to the K-1 interview.

PS:  I hate lawyers...LOL

I hope someone else answers.  I have never heard of submitting the I-134 before the interview.  You do submit files for the I-864 (spousal visa and AOS).  Never for the K-1.

Which form did the lawyer prepare?

Easy, ask her if she has an offcial information source where you can confirm that because you are confused. I'm sure she won't be able to come up with one.

And you don't pay it at the bank but directly to her, right?

Straight from the USCIS website. While a lot of things vary by embassy, some things definitely do not.

I didn't use a lawyer but our embassy is also JA. From my understanding like others have commented, the I 134 is taken to the interview.

Hmm, what's your lawyer up to? I hope he's not a Nigerian prince.

There's no filing fee for form I-134. It's a wet signature and carry form when at the interview.
