Could USCIS waive the interview if the application sits in processing for so long the marriage is no longer "new"?

I submitted my AOS application a few weeks after being married. It's now approaching the one year mark and I live in a region where the processing times are so long it could well be an entire other year.

At that point the marriage will be over two years old. Is it possible USCIS will just waive the interview entirely? If the marriage is 2+ years old would the green card no longer be 'conditional'?

Uscis will not waive interview based on the amount of time that you have been waiting. If your marriage is more than 2 years at the time of interview, if approved  you will receive a 10 year green card
