Looks like about 10% of today’s interviews needed transcripts. Some with just 1040s passed and some with 1040s needed transcripts. There were just a few 221(g)s compared to all the approved. It may be a good idea for everyone to bring transcripts now. I don’t see a pattern unless the 1040s don’t match the W2s.

Are you taking about K-1 interviews? I've been following this discussion about transcripts the past couple of days but thought we were in the clear. Her interview is 2/14 and I do not have transcripts and don't think I can get them in time. Hoping this is not a K-1 related issue?

It relates mostly to IR/CR-1 (immigrant visas) ..  and those with "questionable" 1040 tax returns.     There has been nothing posted by the embassy, as of this date, regarding transcripts being required with the K-1.

Relax.

I am wondering if they request them from people using the 1040 ez form. From what I’ve seen no one with a full 1040 were issued 221(g) and only a handful were issued it at all. I’m hoping for a pattern. A vast majority just had only 1040 without a problem or they weren’t even asked.

All 221(g)s that I’ve heard from yesterday were K-1.

Relax but it might not be a bad idea to have the latest transcript with out just in case. It is a simple page of numbers that can be instantly downloaded. Most have no issue but a handful were asked for it.

In checking with the IRS, it will take 10 days to get the transcripts. Not enough time so I'm going to take the advice here:

Gonna RELAX!

I did look online and you need to fill out an online request form. This from the IRS site:

Depending on what document format a taxpayer needs there are two types of applications to be sent. Form 4506-T is a Request for Transcript of Tax Return. It is used to order digital records of income reports that include all schedules and supporting materials for the last three years. An individual will have to wait ten days to get such data.

All 221(g)s that I’ve heard from yesterday were K-1.

And with the K-1 most are not even asked for support evidence .. unless the new "talking head" is changing that back to the way it was.

Thing with 221g is it can be for most any document.   The most common I see is the PSA birth certificate ..

I tried. But I don't have a mortgage and the one credit card I have for emergencies didn't match.  It does not pay not to have any debt.))))) I ordered transcripts a few days ago by mail and it said it would take 10-15 days....Blah. I have my 1040s + w2s and I make considerably more than the limit....Double blah....

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.
