Canadian police certificate

Can someone please explain to me the process of getting a Canadian police certificate? I know it has something to do with the RCMP, but I am very confused, thanks!

Procedure for Obtaining: To obtain this document, you must submit your fingerprints to a local police service or RCMP-approved partner agency.  YOU MUST STATE THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING THE RECORD UNDER THE PRIVACY ACT.  Do not select “Visa/Border Crossing” as the purpose of the request. You must also specifically request the record which includes the “RCMP National Repository entire holdings.”

What does your record say? Mine doesn't say the National Repository, it says databank CMP-PPU-030. Is that the same thing?

@NicoleMI applied last week. Certificate has not come yet so I honestly don't know. Sorry

They did my fingerprints and I requested the record under the Privacy Act. On the letter it is says "Privacy Act Request Type: Other". But I don't know, the lady who did my fingerprints seemed a bit clueless so I'm worried about it

It was the same for me! I had to show him the same info I put on here but he did not type in the RCMP Repository part. The next day I went in again and requested he type that part into form. He stated it shouldn't make any difference and he resent it. 😣 This is my 3rd attempt to get the correct certificate. Back in Nov they had no idea what was needed other than the Name and birth date search.

Mine says "Privacy Act Request Type: For Suspended Record" despite requesting a criminal record check. However, my results also mention the CMP-PPU-030 without showing any fingerprints so I think we have the same one.

Mine also says CMP-PPU-030.

I emailed the embassy directly to ask about the criminal record check and this is what they sent me. 
You need to go to the RCMP detachment and ask for a criminal record check under the privacy act. 
In the space where they ask for the reason (there HAS to be a reason or Ottawa will reject the search), they need to write "RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings." 
I got mine back in exactly 10 business days and it says CMP-PPU-030
