Not just just fly.  Always need to take notice of a possible airport change on any booking on any site

Never happened to me before......and it never will again.......

Agreed,  I almost got caught in that trap when I noticed an airport change in Tokyo itinerary.   My radar is in active mode regarding this

YMMV

I just happened to notice it the night before our departure....LOL..........imo, the very least they could have done is display a warning notice on the flight schedule that the connection was in a different airport............of course, they still charged me the penalty for rescheduling........they made an easy few hundred bucks.......

anyway, Justfly is no longer on my booking list......

Normally no.  I have been back and forth numerous time, never had my luggage checked.  And I see the people with boxes wheeling right on through also.

Here is what I have found:

I was making 3 trips per year to the Philippines,  I always had to go thru secondary coming back to the USA. I would have to take my luggage to a different place and then I was asked to empty my pockets and then I had my suitcased opened and they looked thru them.   Asked about my occupation and why I had enough time to make frequent trips to Philippines.

This didn't matter if I had carry on only or 2 suitcases.  I finally asked one guy why are they checking me. He stated since I was making so many trips they were checking for drugs or money.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Yup ... you would be on their radar for sure.  You are asking for "special treatment".

But the OP isn't a frequent flyer

I'll be flying to Manila in March from MSP. I use Kayak to look for flights, it's what I used last year too. Delta seems the way to go so far, little more expensive, but shorter layovers.

I would not use Kayak or any other Travel Sight to book a flight to Philippines.

Book direct with the airline, that way if you miss you connecting flight due to delay or whatever, they will put you priority on the next flight.  I only now of days stay on the same airline and let them use their travel partners to get me to Philippines.

I am in DFW and I can now fly Delta or American Airlines to Philippines with short layover in a US City.

Years ago that option didn't exist, I had to take AA to either Las Vegas or San Francisco or Los Angeles and catch PAL to Manila.  That meant doubling checking luggage if I had any and paying luggage fees.

Now of days I can go to DFW and check two bags all the way to Manila.

HUH??    Serial K-1 ... ??  What are you smoking?

My wife flew from Manila, with a stop-over in Japan (Narita)  and had zero issues ... where does that indicate multiple K-1 ?

>>> "My wife has zero issues flying to the U.S. with a stop in Japan."

If she flew just once with her K-1, that would be:

>>> "My wife had zero issues flying to the U.S. with a stop in Japan."

I'm happy she had no problems. We had problems in BKK and TPE. No problems from the point of exit, RGN. I'm glad you can further project that your wife's experience in Japan will be the same as all other K-1 visa holders from now until the end of time, on all airlines, and all airline employees. If I get another fiancee, I'll keep your counsel in mind. Thanks.
