Richmond Times-Dispatch calls on Virginia Gov. Northam to resign

The Richmond Times-Dispatch, the primary daily newspaper in Virginia's capital city, is calling on Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam to resign following the emergence of a racist yearbook photo he appeared in during his time in medical school.

The newspaper published an editorial on Friday night after Northam apologized in a statement. In a video released later Friday evening, Northam indicated he plans to serve out his term.

"The photograph reveals a lack of adult judgment that is disturbing. It does not erase Northam's service in the military or his compassion as a physician. It does, however, strongly suggest that he should, for the good of Virginia, step down from its highest office and allow Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax to succeed him," the editorial reads.

He is a Dem.  It will not be a big deal. Al Sharpton will absolve him of sin. Just like a former Grand Dragon of the Klan being in the senate was ok, becuase he is a dem

Mark Levin made these points just tonight:  the Washington Post has a massive investigative team and a lot of resources.  Why wasn't this uncovered when Northam was a candidate to become Lieutenant Governor, or at least when he ran to be Governor?  If he were a Republican, his career would have been thoroughly destroyed many years ago.

Very True if he was a Republican they would be marching in streets protesting, CNN would be the lead story every 5 minutes, Sharpton would be all over the TV blasting this racist.

 

As a Dem he will get a break

 

My personal opinion if he did this as youth in college, whether he was Republican or Democrat I would over look it.
