1. Just because you were living outside the USA doesn’t mean you didn’t owe USA taxes. USA citizens and permanent residents must file tax returns regardless of residence.   So you need to clean that up. You can file tax returns for up to three previous tax years.  You probably didn’t owe any USA taxes for years where you were entirely abroad.  Don’t forget your FBAR declarations.

2.  TurboTax is just fine for your 2018 situation and might handle 2016 and 2015 too.

You are actually 100% wrong...

Per the IRS website under filing requirements (and an accountant and the IRS representative I sat with last year):

If you're filing status is single AND at the end of the filing year (I'll use 2016) you were under 65, THEN file a return if your gross income was a least $10,350.

NOTE: You must file a return if your gross income was a at least the amount shown in the last column.

Figuring I made under the equivalent of $10,000 I did NOT have to file a tax return from 2010 through 2017.

You are free to give advice, but never tell someone they are wrong in something they know for fact is true, especially when it comes to 7 years of taxes not being filed.

You got conflicting statements on everything regarding what must be filed and what is taxable.  VJ can be helpful for getting a visa but go to a qualified tax preparer fir tax questions.

It would seem (like bakphx1) said it's best to consult a tax preparer. There are experienced people here regarding immigration, but for tax questions I think it's best to go to the experts on that topic (rather than immigration).

I figured I'd ask here since this is infact Immigration related since this is the first time I am doing taxes with a green card holding spouse,  and there could be others going through the same thing I am for the first time. Not everything on this page is 100% Visa related. There are all sorts of questions and situations. And I have seem many tax questions being answered, but none with my scenario.

I don't have two extra pennies to rub together to consult someone that changes outrages fees. I guess I will wing it and hope for the best.

There are non-visa related questions and that’s where people give advice with the same confidence even though they have no experience or training.
