How long ago did you have your interview?

Do you know why they put your into AP?

Interviewed Nov 21 and put on AP on the 23.

No one is ever told why they’re put through prolonged AP, unfortunately. It really is something of a dark hole that you have to be patient about. The end will come eventually.

Agh i see

the only thing I can think of on why we got thrown into AP is because of my fiance getting turned around at the border where they documented it also.

But he kept his word on not going back until the k1 visa was issued to us

Yeah they said to him “youve been approved, youll recieve your visa within a few weeks” and im hoping too! Keeping it positive :)

Technically you're never approved until the status shows "issued". Even after the interview they do background checks and other kinds of checks, so even if they say "approved" at the interview it doesn't mean you're actually receiving a visa. The status "issued" means you'll get the visa.

There are even people who were told they were approved at the interview but later had their visa application revoked after the final background checks.

Yes, keep it positive. Unless you know for sure there's something that might stop you from getting the visa there's nothing to worry about. Everyone goes into AP after the interview, you just have to wait it out.

I doubt that would do it. If he tried to cross after being denied entrance, maybe. But if he was cooperative, that works in his favour.

It might just be that Montreal is backed up in processing applications. It’s just hard to say with real certainty what it could be.

I know it’s a very anxious time, but try to think positively. Your love will be with you shortly :)

gaming consol and that was it

And I thought that only my son traveled with a gaming console.

Keep positive.  When my wife's visa was issued she couldn't go pick it up from DHL for 4 days as the roads were washed out.  There is always one last time to be patient.

Apparently he had too much stuff

in which was board games

 clothes

gaming consol and that was it

Not surprising he was denied entry.  Tourists visiting for a short time don't take board games and gaming console in their luggage....

I mean I take both my computer and ps4 into canada all the time while visiting. They never say much or anything about it. I just think he had more clothes than he should of

but he planned on staying two weeks

so, who knows?

Does your case get regularly updated on CEAC? We've been in AP since Nov 19 interview Nov 16th in the UK with no updates... (though they did email us two weeks ago saying it was issued and still nothing on CEAC).

Yes, I’ve been getting updates at least once a week (though there was a two week break over Christmas/New Years with no update).

It seems like it really depends on the consulate/embassy how often updates happen. Montreal seems to more or less stay on top of things. But I do know there are locations where updates seem to be rare.

Thats great that they emailed you!! I hope that means your visa will be in hand soon 🤞🏻

My fiancé was approved at the us embassy in manila on the 24th of January.  The officer said 5 to 10 days you will have your visa.  We went from status "application received" on the day of the interview to, "administrative processing" on the 25 of January.  We are staying positive, but it is so stressful for both of us.  I did hear that if your creation date changes, and you  go from immigrant status to non-immigrant status that is a good thing, and that your visa will get issued probably, but who knows.  The last udate of status is on the 25th of January for us.

Well that's good you're getting updates. We seem to be the only UK people (on the forum at least) left completely in the dark even when responding to emails they don't update the CEAC dates. They sent another AP email yesterday so who knows what is going on with them I don't get it.

yes,  it's just so annoying. We have waited eight months, and you figure once the officer says approved that you're good. But no, we're going to make you wait once more.  it's been approved by USCIS, it's been approved by the NVC I assume the embassy looked at it another time before my fiance's interview but yet they have to look at it again.  it's just so frustrating.
