Just an update for everyone here. Probably by next Friday they should be pretty much finished up with sending over most of the January cases and moving into the February cases. Let's hope to start the fun sometime mid next week for the real early February NOA2 folks 😁😁😁

1. How do I update my email address with NVC Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy. Enter the petitioner's information as well as the beneficiary's in the "box". Full name, Date of Birth, NOA2 receipt number and WAC number. We have found in some cases that email's are never sent and in other cases this works well. So, your mileage may vary.

Hey guys,

So is this a necessary step for us to get updates about our case? I mean do we need to do this step in order to receive the alerts concerning our file arriving to the NVC, case being assigned and when the file leaves for the Embassy?

Sorry I'm a bit confused...

NOA2 February 4 so it’s been about 16 days but who is counting 😬

They received my file around 22-25 days depending which NOA2 I use. Hang in there! It should be coming soon.

Sorry I'm a bit confused...

That is only if you want email notification or updates about your pending visa application. Sometimes it is helpful as they will respond but some have reported they never get any updates. So, buyer beware and your mileage may vary.

Any chance to expedite the NVC stage?

No. NVC stage is relatively fast in comparison to USCIS. By the time you fill out the paperwork your number will be assigned and your case will be at your embassy. More of this :clock:

NOA2 was approved on February 1st 2019 and the NVC still has not received the shipment from WAC / California.  I called USCIS and they at first told me the system was showing that the package was still at WAC and they were uncertain why.  They submitted a request for information to WAC and the same day (today) I received an email saying it was "in transit".  After receiving the email I called USCIS back and the call taker said that it still showed at WAC on the system but if they said "in transit" that it must actually be in transit....  The uncertainty is numbing.  How quick of a timeline should I realistically expect once the approved petition / package arrives at the NVC?  Any suggestions?

They just received mine yesterday and a few 1/25 cases today so you're still on early I'm assuming. You'll most likely hear something by next week.

Hi I'm writing regard contacting the USCIS, lately the menu change so the option 4 doesn't work anymore. I manage to talk with a representative because our application is being approved by 4 weeks and is not yet at the nvc, I am the beneficiary and the girl on the line told me that she can give information only at the applicant.. I don't know if I have found a nasty one or if this are the rules..

Anybody knows if they know when they send the application to the nvc or I should just wait for them to get it??

We filled it out but we have not hear anything from NVC yet

Has anyone managed to ask the NVC for their embassy case number via email instead of over the phone? It would make life easier haha :D

I did! That's how I got my case number. Only bad part is they take like a week to respond so the email you send this week is for next week and so on.
