Hi everyone. I am very confused right now regarding with my birth certificate. In my cenomar i used my mother’s maiden name and i’ve notice awhile ago that my birth certificate has an error , instead of my mother’s maiden name (whosoever write it )they type her married name😔 my interview is very soon, they told me to fix it, and it will take 2-4 months as they said. Can i get an affidavit? Or i should really fix it because it really matters? Anyone experience it? I need an advice .

A lot of people suggesting to get another cenomar ,And put whats on my birth certificate (which is my mom married name) to avoid 221g. But i dont want to do that because its wrong , they are asking for my mother’s maiden name so i should follow it. Right? Im so confused huhuu please i need help. Should i really fix it?. Thank you

well, my birth certificate has my mother's married name as well. what is the problem? just because it was her name at the time she was giving birth.

i was born in a different country to the one I currently live in 😉

I just don't see any issues with the name change really. People change names during life due to marriage, divorce, adoption.. Just have prove of it I guess.

Oh i see. Mine is really confusing because it’s really an error. The birth cert asking for my mom’s maiden name but the one who make the form put my mom’s married name soooo i dont know how can i solve it . My interview is very soon. And it takes months for it to be corrected . 😔

How soon?

I wouldn't look at it as an error.

I peronally would take prove of her name change from maiden to married, something like marriage certificate.
