Thread is moved from Direct Consular Filing to the CR-1 Case Progress subforum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

but I just worry that it will either be to late to travel due to being to far gone or the babies born and we have to do the whole petition again.

Read this then bookmark it for later. It tells about registering your baby's birth at the US Embassy and getting his/her US passport and Social Security number. You will still register your baby's birth in the UK and get the UK birth certificate. This is a second registration with the USA. You will go to the US on a visa. The baby can travel as a US citizen if born before you get your visa.

Hello, does anybody have a rough estimate of how long the process is after the i130 is approved?

It would be good to have a bit of an estimate as I've recently found out I'm pregnant and I know you can't travel after 7/8 months being pregnant. And would just like to know how long everything roughly takes. thank you

It depends.. mine was at California Service Center and it took 558 days to be approved. Then, there’s that NVC stuff before the interview..  some service centers are faster though!! Good luck

It's okay, it's on my the 7th month they've had our application now. It's almost our receipt date and I've only just found out I'm pregnant. I'm allowed to travel if I have a low risk pregnancy and if I'm under 38 weeks.

That's okay. What is a K1? All this stuff is so confusing right... just to be with someone you love lol

It is about 5-6 months post-I130 currently. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower depending on if you’re ready to submit the packets and also on your embassy.  If they’re backlogged for appointments, you’ll be delayed for an interview. If not, you’ll probably have about a 5 months wait after NOA2.

Moving to Bellingham? Not far from me and I’m also from the UK.

The key to the next stage is being prepared. You have no control over the speed which the I-130 is approved but the next stage is very much in your control. The quicker you get your documents together, the quicker your interview will be set up. Do you have your ACRO certificate yet? If not, get it now. Do you have police certificates from anywhere else you may have lived as an adult? If either of you were divorced or widowed before get certified copies of the divorce decree/death certificate now. Has your spouse competed the I-864 and get his tax transcripts? If not, get them now. Get everything ready so that as soon as the NVC case file is ready you can press the button and send all your documents.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Oh wow really ☺️ That's good to know I have a fellow uk citizen near by. Thank you for the information. I will definitely start getting those documents together so things are faster and smoother. It's been almost 7 months now and we're near our reciept date, so hopefully we hear soon. I visited Seattle and felt like an ant compared to all the bulidings lol

Yes, use the 7 or 8 months waiting for approval of the I-130 to get ready for the next stage.

I’m not in Seattle, by the way. I just have that on my profile as it’s the nearest major city. We are in a cabin up a mountain in the Cascades, in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful! You will really like living in Washington. Spring and summer are perfect. The only time I don’t like it here is Christmas.

Mine took 7 months after NVC received the petition, this includes around 2 months of delaying the AOS submission, so I would say around 5 months.

Hey there,

This all comes down to preparation and your embassy's timeline. After approval most people gets delayed at AOS, so did I, I have tendency to look at everyone's timeline and it seems that's where it slows down because of lack of preparation and its not just lack of preparation sometimes, in my case NVC nickpicked tiniest details, such as please upload documents vertically and it takes them 3 weeks to review one document, then they want another document, once you upload that another 3 weeks, Lol you get the point. One document took me 2 months at NVC, so sometimes its just not in your hand.

- After approval add atleast 1 month for NVC to receive

- Count atleast 1-2 months at NVC to get your documents approved after you upload them.

- Then there is interview, I just checked wait time based on people's feedback, average time to get interview at UK seems 50 days, so add that, here is the link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0

Based on information I've gathered it seems around 5 months after approval from uscis.
