After more then 50 days I finally got this email from NVC. CR1 spouse visa for my husband. How much longer until I hear from them again? And what should I prepare as I’m waiting?

Sorry I didn't mean to be rude if you took it as that.

NO at all. I like answers like yours. They are surreal. But I have been waiting more then 3 months and just minutes ago I received an update of status saying your case was sent to the department of state for visa processing. I don’t know what to expect next.

Do you have your NVC case number yet?  Have you paid your NVC stage fees and submitted your documents?  "Case sent to DOS" sounds like your file was sent to the embassy/consulate abroad to schedule the interview.

I am not sure I fully understand where your case is.  Usually once the USCIS approves your case, it takes 2-4 weeks for the NVC to receive your case (mine took a little over 2 months).  I didn't stay quiet though, I kept contacting the USCIS/NVC/Senator/Governor to help me with my case.  USCIS advised me that it was sent and the NVC kept telling me it's not in their position during those 2 months.  Once the NVC received it, It took about 10 days to get the case number I needed to start the NVC process which took about 1.5 - 2 weeks.  I sent my documents to the NVC.  Usually when the NVC receives the documents, it takes anywhere between 6 - 11 weeks to complete the case (lately for Yemeni applicants it's taking 3-5 weeks and maybe because they know the case will not get approved by the consulate).  Once the case is complete they will notify the embassy/consulate and wait for an interview to be scheduled.  Some will tell you that it takes 1-2 months before an interview is scheduled, but ours case along with other Yemeni cases can take 3-9 months before an interview is scheduled.  Our case once the NVC gave us a CASE COMPLETE sat for 8 months without an interview being scheduled.  I kept contacting the embassy until they accepted my request and allowed me to schedule our interview.  My wife is the applicant and we both went to the interview.  3 brief questions and the agent told us the marriage is legit, but due to the travel ban she was denied.  I applied for the waiver and sitting in AP status.  My cousin has been in AP status since June 2018.  Our case is going through the KLL embassy in Malaysia.  Basically, if your case completed the NVC step, you will wait at least 1 year because your spouse is a Yemeni citizen
