Freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York isn't even old enough to run for president, yet nearly three-quarters of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults would consider voting for her if she could.

She's pretty, she's young, and she's radical.  They love her.  Too bad she's not the brightest bulb in the box, or she could really make waves.

I think it's also because she has a kind of charisma and energy that people like Pelosi and company are just....lacking. Severely lacking. AOC disturbs me a bit because she just seems so naive, but she seems very real and not fake at all, that's probably a large source of her popularity.

 

Her radicalism might fade once she's been in DC for a while. Time will tell.

Ditto.  Good assessment.  We were all young and foolish at one time.  Nothing wrong with youth and vision.

If you look closely, it is not just her.  Senators Warren, Booker, Harris, have all started pushing the socialist programs.
