Because they are potentially likely future scenarios so I want to know all available information to me. That (to me) means asking questions from different perspectives. I can then plan my future accordingly.

The point of contention with some isn't that you've been asking from different perspectives.

The point of contention is that you've been asking from different perspectives and it took almost 3 pages for people to figure out you were asking for yourself, which easily could have been avoided in the first post by you.

The end result being that people will discuss the "different perspective" postings, rather than focus on your actual situation now, unfortunately, as you can see .....

Understood and I didn't realise someone was going to browse previous posts. If they hadn't, I would have successfully received the insightful and knowledgeable answers I was seeking (as I have done) without any criticism or ill will.

Lesson learnt - always be crystal clear and objective on Internet forums where members can see previous posts.

Actually, it seems OP currently has no “actual situation”. Reading through all the hypothetical nonsense to get to the truth seems to reveal no family member that currently is able to sponsor him.

OP mentioned looking for a wife (in this and his previous thread) so that's a no-go...

But OP is unmarried at this time, so he can remain unmarried if he changes his mind regarding the above. If OP's brother does the IR-5 process for their father, then the father upon US POE with the immigrant visa can start the F2B process. The foregoing would be way faster than the F4 process.

Except it appears (?) the brother isn’t a citizen yet so can’t sponsor the father in the first place yet either

People (including me, since I'm the one who referenced your previous thread) tend to browse thread history so that actual helpful and factual answers can be given.  It's a way of getting a more well-rounded view of someone's situation....no way to know that your threads are more about "hypothetical situations" , as you said, instead of wanting actual immigration advice.

Yes you are right. I have no interest or likely scenarios concerning this subject in my future. I have been asking these questions simply to waste everyone's time.

Surely the whole point of these forums is to gather information from people with either knowledge or experience in the relevant subject.

Is your brother a USC or still a LPR?

My brother has a green card which he intends for turn into citizenship in approximately two years time.

When I have disclosed this information previously, I have been told to ask again  in two years time hence the hypothetical scenarios.

Apologies if this isn't the same for everyone here but I like to plan my long term future at least two years in advance

Brother becomes USC, a few years?

Sponsors father, another year, assuming he wants to come

Father sponsors unmarried son -7 years?

Assuming adult children can still be sponsored.

This is way longer than 2 years.

The corollary of that is not: surely these forums are full of knowledgeable people happy to sit around wasting their time on random hypothetical scenarios, when they could be helping people with actual petitions about to be filed or having problems with those underway, because they have nothing else to do with their time?

making a note of your username so as not to waste time in future. I guess that makes me “uptight” 😂😂
