Immigrant but we just sent in our requested information. Our interview was Jan 18th and our ceac does show they have been messing with our file. Feel free to private message us.

Any update Amar or anyone else. My k1 Interview at Mumbai was also held on 11th January, since than administrative proceedings with non immigrant application from Day 1. If anyone gets visa stamped passport near my interview date, do let us know.

All of your experiences are really worrisome to all of us. Why are they taking so long for AP ? Do you think contacting congressman would help expedite or atleast know the reason for AP ?

I think primarily it is because Government Shutdown, since after visa interview file goes for background check and Government Shutdown has finished on 25-01-2019. So I feel I should wait untill this week before taking anyfurther action.

The shutdown did not impact consular services at any embassy or consulate in any way known. Only employees there would really know for sure, but they had their own fund to pull from for that time period (had that run out, well...that would be different).

There is no way to expedite AP.

One can contact the embassy or a congressperson to inquire their case status. Usually they will just give a generic response that it is going through mandatory AP before they can make a decision. But it will not hurt to ask.

Even if one were to know the precise reason for AP, would it change anything? If they aren't waiting on documents from you, there's nothing else you can do about the process.

Visa processing is paid by the due each of pays each step of the way. Sort of self funding. Once those funds are used up then yes they could be impacted by a GS.

It took more than a month for you to get the passport right ? I hve actually booked ticket for my fiancé too when I return bk after interview. If the same happens will hve to cancel the ticket. Well better to stay positive & hope  for the best I guess

Don’t worry!!

if they approve on the spot it takes less than 10 days to get visa, if 221g for document missing then may be 3 weeks..

but it if they ask for more evidence on proof of relationship, it can take 60 days.. so best is don’t give them chance for any doubts.

good luck!!
